Hi, I’m Corrine, the face (and hands) behind Inky Nib Calligraphy.
Based in Staffordshire, UK, I’m primarily a modern calligraphy teacher, offering modern calligraphy workshops and on demand courses and online tutorials to students across Staffordshire, Shropshire and Derbyshire (in person) and globally for my Zoom workshops and On Demand courses.
As a left hander, I’m busting the myth that lefties can’t be great at calligraphy (because you can!) although left or right handed, you can be sure of a supportive, structured approach to make learning modern calligraphy easy.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll be thinking, well that’s great but I want to get to know YOU. So here’s a potted version:
I learnt calligraphy as a child – I was so proud of my Italics pens. It won’t surprise you that I was an only child so I had lots of crafty hobbies that I could work on independently.
Calligraphy fell off my list of hobbies for a bit but made a resurgence in 2018 and led to me forming my business in late 2022. Prior to that I had been working in HR and training roles for over 20 years.
I’m a cat mum to a sassy Siamese, she’s Head of Quality Control at INC HQ. She sometimes appears on my live videos (generally scratching furniture to be let out because I’m ignoring her)
I’m also a pretty decent baker – my chocolate brownies are a family favourite. Fun fact: my Food Tech teacher was actually called Mrs Baker and she did teach me how to bake.
If I’m replying to comments and messages on my social media accounts in the late evening, feel free to tell me to switch off and pick up my book – I’ve generally got a grizzly crime or psychological thriller on the go.
And yes, there is coffee in that mug, I’m a big fan (it’s a good job I can drink it cold as I generally forget about it when I’m working!)
In The Media…
